Handspinning, anyone? Whether you work with a wheel or a drop spindle, you’ll enjoy this fiber fresh from our farm. It’s raw wool from our Polypay sheep. Our sheep are out on pasture from May through December (weather permitting). During the winter, they are fed hay in the barn, so you will encounter some VM. Sheep gotta eat…
The fleeces are from this spring’s shearing. We had every intention of having them processed ourselves, but 2020 has been full of surprises. At the time of shearing, we skirted the fleeces, removing much of the hay, the manure tags, and the belly wool. Then we packed them tightly into large wool bags. These are all lambswool, first shearing. Very nice!
“Bag Run” means you will likely not get one whole fleece. You will get 4# of wool, and it may not be all nicely connected together like when we flipped it onto the skirting table and then rolled it up. Stuffing it in the bag changes the dynamics somewhat. Your 4# will be shipped in a priority mail box. Shipping available to the 48 continental states of the USA only.
