More people are starting to care about where their food comes from—and eggs are a great place to start. Labels like “cage-free” and “free-range” sound good, but they don’t always mean hens are actually outside much.
Pasture-raised is different.
For most of the year, our hens are out on real grass, roaming, scratching, and eating bugs, seeds, and plants—just like chickens are meant to. And that natural lifestyle shows up in the eggs.
Better Eggs, Plain and Simple
When hens eat a varied, natural diet, their eggs are more nutritious. Pasture-raised eggs can have more omega-3s, more vitamins like D and E, and fewer unhealthy fats.
You’ll notice the difference right away too. The yolks are a deep orange, the whites are firmer, and the flavor is richer.
We’ve even had customers tell us that eggs usually don’t agree with them—but they can eat ours without any issues. Everyone’s different, of course, but it’s something we hear often.
Better for the Hens (and the Land)
Pasture-raised hens get to live like hens—out in the sun, dust bathing, and foraging. At the same time, they help improve the soil by naturally fertilizing the pasture as they move around.
So, Is It Worth It?
Pasture-raised eggs do cost a bit more. But you’re getting better nutrition, supporting more humane farming, and helping care for the land.
Next time you stop by the farm store or one of the markets, give them a try—you’ll taste the difference.
