Description
This roving is the result of having our wool processed at a new mill. Pindrafted, and with very little VM, this is a dream to spin with.
Handspinning, anyone? Whether you work with a wheel or a drop spindle, you’ll enjoy this fiber fresh from our farm. It’s 100% wool from our farm’s Polypay sheep, and is a lovely creamy ivory colored. Great for handpainting or dyeing, or use it in its undyed form.
This is entirely a Michigan-made product. Your purchase will help support a small family farm. While both of these are great reasons to give it a try, the best reason of all is that our roving is wonderful to use for spinning or needle felting. You can even knit or crochet with it, using huge bulky needles or hooks.
Polypay was the featured breed in the 2010 Winter Spin-Off magazine.
Your 4 oz. roving will be shipped first-class in a tear-proof envelope.
☆ A note about farm-fresh roving. Our wool is cleaned with soap and water. Unlike some commercially produced wool, it is not soaked in hydrochloric acid or other harsh chemicals. This makes it more skin-friendly and eco-friendly. However, the gentle processes used may allow a bit of hay to remain in the roving. This can be easily picked out as you spin the wool or use it for felting.
