Black Turtle Beans are not considered an heirloom variety. This common bean, native to southern Mexico and Central America is grown and consumed widely. Black Turtle Beans (mostly known as Black Beans) have a thick skin and a meaty texture. This variety may date back as far as 7,000 years, but ours are fresh.
Shady Side Farm is located in Holland, Michigan, and specializes in providing locally grown, organic products.
